Rogério Gomes, who left Globo this year, will direct a six-episode series written by Paula Richard, former Record author. This is a co-production between Brazil and the USA that is being negotiated with platforms.
The story is about three children — one indigenous, one American and one from Ceará — who come together to fight supernatural forces in the Amazon after a huge forest fire. The plot draws from Netflix's "Stranger Things". It is set in Fordlândia, in Pará, created in the late 1920s by the North American Henry Ford to serve as a latex supply hub for the production of tires for the company's cars.
The production company Diosual is ahead of the project. She has partnerships with other experienced authors, such as Aguinaldo Silva, Marcílio Moraes and Tiago Santiago. The objective is to create series and soap operas for Latin America and the Hispanic market in the USA. There are conversations with Telemundo (USA), RCN (Colombia) and TelevisaUnivision (Mexico).
